As it is the Dresden Files are a well crafted enjoyable blend of fantasy and detective/police genres. If the series had gone a full run of the normal 22/24 episodes and the numbers had been good enough for a 2nd season then maybe just maybe we would have seen the series take on more of the atmosphere and tone of the books.
Just saying, Netflix, just saying. I do very much recommend the show & books if you are a fan of urban fantasy or wanting to experience it. I must concur with other reviewers here that this series had the ingredients to become a real winner. It's a curl up during bad weather and drink cocoa sort of show. worth a dabble if you like Supernatural (will seem calm in comparison), Buffy etc. Whoever is causing the murders is using the weather — huge storms — to carry out their deeds, leaving no human or supernatural trace behind. Again, all excellent and I'm so disappointed there isn't going to be a 2nd series! Would recommend for getting all the episodes.
