Note that while OS lists them as ABC, they are actually ABN. You are OK if you use a glow fuel with at least 18% oil content and at least some castor oil in it. It was a great running engine and very powerful. Very nice engine. $89.00.
I have had them for over 25 years and they have gotten much use in those years (except the .25 which is still NIB, never found the right plane for it). The other 45 is not. Also the old Max.25 will be lighter than the ballraced .25 so you need the motor further forward or lots of lead. Note that while OS lists them as ABC, they are actually ABN.

The older guys at the club comment on how good the FSR's were. That part and ordering a new ring from Frank Bowman (ring broke during an earlier disassembly) puts me back in business. I have two of the 45 size and one of the 60 size. 23% oil tends to be somewhat of a overkill for the engines. I ran some OS FSR's many years ago. o.s. I recently came into possession of several of the FSR two stroke engines, vintage mid 1980s. $7.75 shipping. The 60 is brand new, never been run.
The 60 and one 45 is ringed. The front housing broke where the carb attaches way back when.
It's a real performer. My 25FSR powered wing, 900mm WS. 25 FSR (1977), legendary part of O.S. OS show the old Max25 as .4hp while they show the FSR as .7hp. I agree, the FSR engines are a great engine, all of mine are ringed, I break them in with 25% oil then run them on 15% nitro 18% syn/castor fuel.
